Apple Transcription responds to influx of client wins with new team member

Apple Transcription has expanded its team with the appointment of an administrator/transcriber, in response to an increase in new business.

Rachel Gambrill has joined the company with a wealth of experience in administration and customer service, as well as a vigour to develop her expertise in a new sector.

Recently relocating from Suffolk to South Yorkshire, the recruit brings with her extensive transferrable skills, citing her main strengths as having a keen eye for accuracy, the drive to always improve, and the ability to be impartial when it comes to transcribing.

Rachel has previously worked across an array of industries, including hospitality, engineering, property maintenance and the civil service.

In addition, in June 2022, she graduated from the Open University with a first-class honours degree, in environmental management and technology.

Reflecting on her new role, Rachel said: “I was excited by the prospect of this job because it offers variety and presents a new challenge, as well as the opportunity to work from home.

“No day is the same as the transcriptions I’m working on cover different types of organisations and subject matter, which is stimulating and rewarding.

“I’m keen to learn more and more about the industry, and the skills I’ve brought with me have already stood me in good stead when it comes to grammar, dealing with confidential information, and having a neutral perspective.”

The company’s interview process involves English language tests to ensure a candidate can pay attention to detail during the audio typing process.

An ability to compartmentalise and handle the gravity of some client recordings is vital too, especially when working on legal content and police bodycam footage.

Christine Vaughan, one of the directors at Apple Transcription, said: “We’re thrilled to have Rachel on board and although she’s only been with us a short time, she has settled in quickly and we’re already seeing her develop the key expertise needed in this line of work.”

Rachel continued: “I was looking for a totally different change of pace in my career and I’m happy to say I certainly found it. Waking up in the morning and looking forward to what the working day holds is so important to me.

“Apple Transcription prides itself in providing a ‘human touch’ and offering a friendly service to its clients – these values definitely apply to the employee experience as well.”
